The aim of the project is to improve andragogy by promoting intercultural and intercultural dialogue between teachers and adult learners on the topic of European good practice in the field of adult education.
The objectives of the project are:
- to share national and institutional contextual information
- to develop a common format for observation/job shadowing
- to develop a methodology for accessing key features, including the following:
o the views of adult learners about good practice
o the systems for needs analysis used by different institutions prior to learning activities
o the planning of training: design of courses, seminars and so forth.
o The various methods of assessment and evaluation
- to observe and participate in practices in the field of adult education, particularly with classes containing adults from ‘hard to reach’ groups, Travellers, women’s groups, migrants, intercultural groups, rural communities, disadvantaged groups, the unemployed and those with learning and physical disabilities
- to conduct seminars with colleagues in other countries, in which andragogy is discussed
- to establish the views of adult learners on what they feel constitutes good practice
- to garner the views of adult educators about what they consider to be good practice
- to analyze and summarize the results of the observations and discussions
- to investigate the possibility of transferring good practice into different partners’ contexts
- to prepare a web site containing examples of good practice and analysis, informed by an intercultural point of view
- to share and try out study materials and manuals used for learners of immigrant/refugee and other disadvantaged backgrounds
